ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK

Music: 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover; by Paul Simon
I wanted to post a few things last night, but Blogger was undergoing some kind of overhaul. So now I'm using the new system they've put in. Frankly, it sucks compared to the old system. It's kind of poorly organized, and it's harder to get at older posts, and it's incredibly hard to do so when making a new post. So you can't reference old things you've said. It's pretty inconvenient.

PROOF OF FIFE
Mood: Okay
Music: We Suck Young Blood (Your Time Is Up); by Radiohead
There is a new comic up. I was told by a friend that Monday's comic was amusing, and I like to think of this comic as kind of funny too.
My photography class continues to be amusing. You never know what my wacky teacher, Mr. Lim, is going to do next.

MUSIC FOR A DARKENED PEOPLE
Mood: Okay
Music: Busted Heart; by Bishop Allen
So I was watching the AFI tribute to Robert De Niro last night. Every once in a while, it show a camera reaction of some celebrity. Most often you'd see Jodie Foster or Billy Crystal reacting to something. Also a lot of coverage on Martin Scorcese. Then, all of the sudden, there's a quick little bit of coverage on Danny Elfman. I don't know where it came from. All of the sudden, there's Danny Elfman in a black suit wearing thick rimmed glasses, watching the presentation. Frankly, I don't even know why he was invited. I mean, I like Danny Elfman a lot, I just can't think of any reason why he was invited. He hasn't scored any movies that De Niro was in. Whatever the reason for his presence, I find it odd that they chose to show him on national television. I mean, he's not exactly a widely recognized celebrity. I'm thinking that maybe the editors saw some tape of a guy with short orange red hair and finely tailored black suit, and figured, 'hey, maybe that's a famous fashion designer', and they threw him in. More power to you, Danny Elfman.

BOY IS MY FACE RED
Mood: Okay
Music: There There (The Boney King Of Nowhere); by Radiohead
I've been doing many things to try and promote Hard Underbelly. One of those things was trying to join a newly forming webcomics community, but they didn't want me. One of the other things is taking part in some pretty ridiculous on-line comic events.
The kind of ridiculous thing I'm currently in is Keenlace. It's basically a bunch of people drawing their characters in lacey underthings. Some of the people drew their male characters in lacey underthings. I, on the other hand, drew Luna in lacey underthings. It was a bit of a nostalgic thing to draw. When I was a horny little teenager, I constantly used to do some pretty stupid drawings of naked ladies. I hid them like contraband in...actually, I can't really remember where I hid them. It was probably someplace stupid, like under my pillow. In any event, I hadn't drawn a pin-up in some time. Anyway, I'm mildly pleased with the results. Especcially when you compare it to some of the other entries. People should never be drawn and colored in MS Paint. Anyway, you'll notice in that drawing of Luna why I don't hand letter things. My handwriting blows.

IT MIGHT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER
Mood: Inconsequential
Music: We Suck Young Blood (Your Time Is Up); by Radiohead
There is a new comic. I think it's kind of funny, but maybe that's just me.
My summer class starts today. In fact, it starts in a little over an hour, so maybe I should, like, take a shower and get dressed and eat breakfast and get ready for school and all that stuff.
Why are there assholes in the world? The guy over at Something Awful "gave away" the name of the character that dies in the new Harry Potter book. Today he said he was kidding, and it wasn't that person, but he proceeded to say who actually dies without anyt kind of spoiler space whatsoever. I know it's stupid to gripe about a Harry Potter book, but I consider giving away the endings of movies and books to by a terrible sin. On the occasions when I have accidentally done it, I feel terrible about it afterwards. I had the Sixth Sense ruined for me before I saw it. It really blows to know the twist ending before you see the movie. So, don't be a twist teller. Keep all secrets to yourself. Share not your knowledge with the world.
Okay, now I must take a shower and go to class.

AT NIGHT I WILL PROTECT YOU IN YOUR DREAMS
Mood: Okay
Music: The Gloaming (Softly Open Our Mouths In The Cold); by Radiohead
I'm back. I got more good stuff for my birthday. I got a new set of Micron pens, which I use for inking everything. Speaking of art, I've been trying to upload tomorrow's comic, but the server won't let me in. So it could be a little late. Sorry in advance.
I also got the new Radiohead album, Hail To The Thief. It is, of course, great. So far, my favorite songs are We Suck Young Blood, and A Punchup At A Wedding. It's really good stuff. Radiohead fans will appreciate the way this album mixes elements from Kid A and Amnesiac with earlier albums like the Bends, OK Computer, and Pablo Honey. The inclusion of a lyrics sheet is also wonderful.
There's some jackass in our apartment complex playing his stereo really fucking loud right now. It's really pissing me off.
