SOMETHING

Mood: Awake
Music: Watch Her Disappear; by Tom Waits

There's a new comic up. Yay for punctuality.

Going home.

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. It was fun and entertaining. I liked it. I'm sleepy. Gotta go catch a bus.

Bye bye.

BAD NEWS (PROBABLY)

Mood: Okay
Music: Life In A Glass House; by Radiohead

I've got some bad news.

My class ends next week. After that, I'm going to be at my mom's house for as long as it takes to paint it. While I'm there, I will be unable to update the comic at all. I don't know how long it will take to paint the house, but I figure on at least a week. So there will be no Hard Underbelly starting on the 21st, and continuing untill I can get back to my place. If I manage to get a job before next Thursday, I can get out of it, but I doubt I'll be able to pull a job out of my ass that quickly. Here's hoping. Hey, if you know anyone that's hiring in the Seattle area, or you just saw a 'now hiring' sign somewhere in the Seattle area, send me an email and tell me where. If I get a job quick, you'll be helping to keep Hard Underbelly alive and on a regular schedule. Wouldn't that be nice?

I THINK I'LL MAKE A NEW ME

Mood: Okay
Music: Bungalow Bill; by the Beatles

What is there to say? There's a new comic up, that's an obvious one. Yes, I know it's nearly a 100k, but I wanted that color to look decent in the third panel. High file sizes are just the price you pay for high quality.

Strawberry Festival is this weekend. That should be amusing. And the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comes out on Friday. I'm seeing it Sunday. That should be tons of fun.

I'm stuck on this one level of WarCraft 3: the Frozen Throne. It's well nigh impossible. There's just no way I can muster enough units to take down this enemy town. It's impossible. I'm very irritated. UPDATE: I have made that level my biotch.

I'M NOT DOING THE POEM THING ANYMORE

Mood: Okay
Music: Seven Nation Army; by the White Stripes

That poem thing seemed like a good idea early in the morning yesterday, but now it just seems stupid.

Come to think of it, I'm not really sure what I'm posting about here. I guess I'll just babble then.

On Sunday I saw Danny Berry while going to catch a bus. I was wearing my Fruit Fucker shirt, and Danny started shouting, "I have that shirt! I have that exact same shirt!" He probably got it at the Seattle comic con early this year. That's where I got mine.

Speaking of Penny Arcade, read this, starting with Gabe's 'Sign Me Up' post. It's funny stuff. Rolling on the floor laughing kinda stuff. Even my mom thought it was funny, and she's got a pretty narrow sense of humor.

I went camping this weekend. It was foggy. We made camp at about 12:30. "This fog'll clear right up," my mom said. At about 7:30 in the evening a breeze came through and finally cleared it away. It was beautiful, but it was still kind of boring waiting around for seven hours. We left our campsite at 6:30 in the morning the next day. I don't complain when I have to get up early while camping. I hate sleeping bags. I like to spread out more, and I'm happier at the prospect of getting up and hiking for a couple of hours to a warm, comfortable car seat than trying to sleep in a mummy bag.

SO SHUT UP

Mood: Okay
Music: Can't See (Useless); by Boingo

There is a new comic up. Sort of. It's a bit of a filler thing, but it's kind of necessary, as some of the new characters designs are far from finished at this point, so I have to stall a bit. But rather than just post nothing, there's a picture of Casey's character design for the winter months. Also, Friday's comic did go up on time, I just wasn't here to tell anyone about it.

The titles of my news posts for the next couple months are actually lines of a psuedo poem I wrote, only in reverse order, so when you go down the page, it appears in order. (ie, the title of this post is the last line in the poem) I could just post the whole poem, but since I'm ardently against amateur poetry in general, it seems wrong to claim I am better than others. That is why my poem will appear in that format, so it is not abrasively there to make people cringe. Besides, sometimes it's hard to think up quirky little titles for these posts, and this will keep me from having to think about it for a while.

Hard Underbelly now has four votes at Onlinecomics.net. We've had fifty hits come in through them. However, the comic "The Park Existence", which is not fit to be linked too, has gotten 163 hits. The Park Existence is a piece of shit comic that takes place in South Park, of all things. Why is it that my comic, an original story, has less than a third of the hits than a rip off of South Park has? Where is the justice? These people should not be rewarded, they should be punished.

I'm thinking of putting a bunch of posters around downtown Seattle. They will say, in big block letters, "Hard Underbelly". They will then have a bunch of little pull-off tags at the bottom that have the Hard Underbelly URL. I'm not expecting it to be a big draw for the comic, but you never know, and all it will cost me is printing.
