ROSE TINTED GLASSES

I'm in a great mood.
The comic today had a little error. I wrote "you're" instead of "your". Then I fixed it when I read it on-line. That's the beauty of the internet. I can go back and retroactively change the comics that had typos or other errors. For instance, if I establish that Saul was in China in August of 1603, and then say in passing that he was a horsemaster in a gypsy caravan in Romania between 1599 and 1608, I could just go back and change the dates. But then, I'm kind of striving into ubergeek territory here.
I have a good luck charm, you know. It's a pair of red dice given to me by an old gypsy woman I know. Red is a lucky color, and the woman is actually old, and a an actual gypsy. People always think I'm kidding when I talk about this. Every morning I roll the dice, and whichever has the higher number, I carry it around in my pocket all day. It's for luck. My only other charm is an ankh I wear for protection. Those are my only real superstitions. I'm thinking of doing a little story about Casey and a good luck charm in the future.

THE SUN DON'T GO DOWN, IT'S JUST AN ILLUSION CAUSED BY THE WORLD SPINNING 'ROUND
Mood: Excellent
Music: S-E-X-X-Y; by They Might Be Giants
I haven't posted any news here in a while, but frankly, I just don't care. Not a lot of people bother to read this news section. And all of the really important stuff I put on the main page anyway, so it's not like the earth-shattering news is gonna get put here anyway. Well, maybe in more depth, but not all alone.
Anyway, it was Hard Underbelly's 100th comic on Firday. I celebrated by putting a little message declaring the good news on the main page. I was going to leave it at that, but then I was kind of bored, so I tweaked the site's design a bit. I got rid of the fugly navigation bar above the comics, and put it over on the side with images instead of plain links. I might make them roll-overs at some point, but it might be more trouble than it's worth. I like the new site design. It's pretty simple, but it still looks more professional than the kind of remedial html school design I had before. I was originally going to do it all with frames, but it wasn't working out, and some people still stubbornly fight the future and claim that frames are pure evil. So I just made it a little table instead, and it still works out pretty neat. I think one standard thing I'll do is change the little "Hard Underbelly" logo for every chapter. I'll try to change it to something that kind of reflects the chapter. That's why this chapter's logo has kind of a cemetary and ooze motif to it. During this site redesign I also ditched the forums and the "other art" section. The forum was deader than a doornail, despite a few brave attempts by Cutter to keep them alive. And I wasn't really updating the "other art" section either. Pretty much everything I draw these days is either Not All There or Hard Underbelly related, which kind of keeps it from being, well, "other". And those Hard Underbelly drawings that aren't part of the story are my little peace offerings for those times when I can't, or just don't draw an actual comic. But remember, there've only been, like, three or four of those out of 100 comics. 100!
I guess that's all for now. Sleep tight, children.
